Prayer for the World
“The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” James 5:16
We pray weekly for the will of God to be done in the earth as it is in heaven. The Apostle John said that this is the confidence that we have: that when we pray, He hears us. And because He hears us, we know that we have what we have asked of Him. No matter the natural circumstances, God has the final say over the earth and we align our prayers with that truth.
Prayer for the Nation
“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people-for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” 1 Tim 2:1,2
This scripture makes it clear that there is great importance on the prayers of believers concerning our leaders. We have a responsibility to pray for those in authority and to intercede for our nations. We pray each week for our Prime Minister and for the nation of Australia, its state and local government and all who dwell here. We also extend our prayers over the nations and our global leaders.
Prayer for Each Other
“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2
It is so important to us that we stand with one another in prayer, whether interceding or adding our faith to another’s. Many nights that we gather, the prayer requests are for people outside of that room – even outside of our nation. We pray fervently and expectantly, and we see God move mightily in response.
After praying, we have seen healings, provision, salvations, supernatural protection, deliverance and freedom, marriages restored, families repaired – and there is more that God is yet doing!
These prayer meetings are opportunities to pray for our world, our nations, and each other. They are opportunities to give God room to work in our lives and to confidently make our requests known to Him. And they are opportunities to rejoice over the faithfulness of God and all that He has done!
